Bocce Ball Materials and Sizes
Resin is the most popular material for bocce balls and will withstand frequent use better than other materials. Molded plastic is best for children or for beginners and can be somewhat softer although still very durable.
A bocce ball that is smaller than 100mm is typically best for children or for beginners. This size is easiest to handle and toss. Tournament balls will range between 107mm and 115mm. The International Standard ball is 107mm (4.2 inches) and weighs 920 grams (2 lbs.). The occasional backyard player will most likely appreciate a size somewhere between 100mm and 110mm.

This game is addicting.
My friends and I play this game at least 4 times a week for recreation and excersise. The balls are well constructed and lend themselves to various types of terrain to play on!

We wanted a bocce set to use in the yard with friends and family. This set was priced right and it seems to be a good set for beginners. The only negative is the carrying case has no rigid sides so you are carrying the balls in a "sack". The balls shift around and it is awkward. Because the carrying case has no real shape, it is also awkward to store it on a shelf. You basically just pile it in a corner. We haven't had the set long enough to find out how long the case will last, but I'm sure we will try to find a better carrying case well before then. I'd only recommend this set with a caveat about the case. Maybe a higher priced set with a better case would be a wiser selection.

Arrived on time and in perfect condition. This is my first time to use Hayneedle and I was well pleased.i have not used the balls yet so cannot really evaluate it on all aspects.

Q1: 092509jrk (HX064) Is the carrying case in the first picture the tube case or the canvas bag?
A: The tube case is the black case seen in the first image. The canvas case can be seen in the last image. The canvas bag could be described as a 'cooler' bag.
